5 Minute Egg Nest Necklace

Hi everyone! Did you all have a great Christmas? We did! But I'm kinda glad it's over. It's always so hectic around the holidays.

So! Today I want to share with you this sweet little necklace I made. It literally takes like, 5 minutes once you get the hang of it! I ended up spray painting the pearls light blue, and they chipped a little when working with them. But I kinda like them like that!

 Ok, here we go!

Supplies Needed:

+Floral Wire
+Needle Nose Pliers
+Jump Rings
+Wide Marker
+Circle Beads

Take your wire, and wrap it around the marker. I used this highlighter because I liked the width of it; it makes for a good sized nest!

After wrapping the floral wire around the marker several times, remove the wire carefully, leaving about 4 inches extra before cutting from spool. Then thread the wire around the nest a few times to secure one side.

Thread a bead through, and then wrap the wire around the opposite end a few times to secure the bead. If you run out of wire, just start a new one and repeat process for each bead you want in the nest (in my case, it was 4).

Then I attached a jump ring to string the necklace through, and voila! You have a cute little egg nest necklace!! Easy Peasy RIGHT?!

LOVIN' IT!

Merry CHRISTmas!

But the angel reassured them. "Don't be afraid!" he said. "I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people. The Savior—yes, the Messiah, the Lord—has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David!

Luke 2:10-11

May you all remember the reason for the season this year-that God sent Himself to be our hero; a Savior to the world! Praise Him! Merry Christmas EVERYONE!

We're only DAYS away now!

Boy, did December fly or what?!

Are you guys finished with your Christmas shopping? Yeah.....I'm not. But close! That has to count for something, right? Oh, such a busy season this always is! Yet it has really gotten so far off the point, which is our sweet Lord Jesus who gave His life for us! Let us remember that, every day of the year :)

Oh Christmas Treeeee!!

Our lovely Christmas tree. That I just LOVE. So much. The toys to the left crept their way in the pic, the skirt was tossled about because of the electronic Zhu Zhu Pet cruising underneath it, much to the delight of the girls, and no presents are under the tree.

But, the tree....is UP. And looking so beautiful. So much more stunning in person. Some of you have that opportuinty, to see it in person. Some don't. But trust me-she's a joy to have in our home :)

Have you put up your tree yet? Real or fake?

Cute Baskets

Ever seen these baskets at Walmart? SOOOO ugly. But serves their purpose. To hold stuff.

Oh, and apparently to hold a long hair in the window spot. CUTE.

Well, I couldn't stand looking at them so after a little bit of brainstorming, I was able to come up with an idea-cover them with burlap!

After covering them up, I attached some ribbon to the top and glued a little bow on front-voila! Now I need to finish the other two, but I just LOVE how it turned out! :)

 Don't you?

From Trash To Treasure

Ok, so it's a trash can. But not just ANY trash can. I saw this trash can at the Salvation Army, and fell in love with the detail on it! Only I thought it would look 23985934857 times more amazing in a different color.

So after a few coats of Rustoleum Aqua, and Ralph Lauren Techinque Glaze in Tobacco, I have a gorgeous trash can to go in my bedroom!

$1.78 well spent!

No Sew Lace Shirt!

Hi everyone! Are you all ready for Thanksgiving?! I'm NOT! I still need to get the turkey and supplies...oops! Today I'll do it.

Anyway! So for Christmas cards, we'll be doing a picture of all the kids and get them printed at Sam's Club

HowEVER, we have a small dilemma on our hands. My dear, SWEET Husband doesn't like our children's clothes to match in pictures. Well, at ANYtime. I know, WEIRD right?! Well, I DO. But I can't just go running around doing things MY WAY all the time, right?!

So here's what I decided. Two kids will wear white shirts, and two kids will wear black. That way, they're similar, but not all matching! Phew! Glad we solved THAT one.

For the girls shirts, I decided to spice them up a little bit with lace. So here's what I did!

 No Sew Lace Shirt

Supplies needed:

*Shirt
*Lace
*Heat N Bond

It's so super easy. I added the Heat N Bond to the lace, ironed on, and it was done. Seriously!

Isn't it so cute? I love how simple it is, yet it gives it a little...oomph.

I also did this with the baby's black shirt, and used white lace (remember, no matching!). Our pictures are going to be SOOO cute! When we take them, I'll share here :)

EDIT-

Here they are in their lace shirts! So cute!!! Minus the crying ;-)

And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God's love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow-not even the powers of hell can separate us from God's Love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below-indeed, nothing in ALL creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord!

Two really neat things I wanted to point out before I get my week started:

#1 Operation Christmas Card
This is to send Christmas Cards to soldiers. We LOVE doing this, and it's so awesome to include the kiddos in these heartfelt cards! For more info, click the link above!

#2 Operation Christmas Child
This is such a neat thing we do too! You pack a shoebox, for either a girl or boy, with toys, needs, etc. You can find a local church accepting them in an area near you to drop off to. We've always done one each year, and earlier this year we got a response from one of the recipients! SUCH A BLESSING! So check out the above website on HOW to pack a shoe box (or it can even be a store bought plastic shoebox from walmart!) and what to do with it!

 Happy Sunday friends!

HOO Are You?

NightOwlCrafting

1. Do you type on a keyboard the correct way or do you peck like a cute little chick?

The correct way. I'm pretty fast too ;-)

2. Typically how long does it take you to get ready in the morning?

Well if it's during the week and I have nothing to do that day, it's spread out throughout the morning. When we're going somewhere, less than an hour.

3. Do you prefer lip gloss or lipstick?

Lipgloss, but I actually prefer MAC's Lustreglasses over lipglosses-they're much thinner yet super sparkly!

4. Do you take clothes to the dry cleaner or wash them yourself even if they say dry clean only?

Wash them myself but on delicate.

5. Do you prefer Wal Mart or Target?

TARGET! Even though it's a little more expensive than Walmart...we have this HUGE SuperTarget, and it's all spread out and nice and new :) Walmart's always chaotic.

$5.00 Scripture Wall Decor

Hola friends! Did you have a good October? We did. So good, in fact, that it seemed to come and go as fast as  the snap of a finger! Oh well, what can ya do? Now the holidays are right upon us, and I'm excited for that too!

Today I want to share with you my AMAZING piece of art I created for $5.00....yes. FIVE!

After sawing, painting, and getting the vinyl lettering on the distressed edged wood, we have THIS Beauty!

I absolutely adore the way it turned out! All you need is a 1x4x8 and 2 pieces of scrap 1x2's to secure the planks to the back, and voila! GORG, right? Yes, I am aware that my planks are not even. I'm still mastering the circular saw. And it gives it character :)

I just love it. Not gonna lie. I beam everytime I look up at it.

:)

EDIT- Just so you're aware since a few of you asked, it's based off of Isaiah 41:10 which says-

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Happy Halloween!

May you all stay safe and have fun, whatever you do!

As for us, we'll do a little trick or treating, and then I'l bring the babies home and we'll hand out candy! This is our first Halloween in our neighborhood, so I don't know how many kids we'll get! But I got lots of candy to be prepared...and if we're short on trick or treaters, MORE for me!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
