Iron Awaaaayyy!!!

I recently made this little gem for our laundry room, also known to you as the world's smallest laundry room! My dear sweet Husband is always leaving the ironing board up against the wall in our room or in the hallway, and by golly, I just don't find that acceptable! So I needed a solution, and this was IT!

Here it is on the garage door in the laundry room, but I can NOT bring myself to show you what it looks like with the ironing board on it-not until I make a new cover for it, it looks SO grungy! But this'll have to do for now!

This was a super easy project too-just a 1x4, 2 hooks, some painter's tape to make the lettering and fleur de lis stencil, and some paint! There it is!

UPDATE-I felt so bad showing my gorgeous Ironing Board Hanger without showing an ironing board on it! So I flipped the ironing board around and snapped a pic! Now you can see an action shot! :)

  1. Great idea. I don't have much storage in my place and love tips like this to keep things neat. Would love to see it again when you make a new cover for your ironing board.

  2. Great idea! I wish I had seen this a couple weeks ago. I finally bought an over-the-door ironing board hanger for Honey because I was tired of the mess...and now I am the one that hangs the ironing board up. But at least it gets done! Your idea, however, is much cuter. Nice work!

  5. I think I may make this TODAY! We have an itty-bitty laundry room too (you can see it on my blog if you want) and my husband has started storing the iron board up against the wall, behind the door. Problem is, it always wants to fall down. This is a great solution! I'll probably copy it exactly because I LOOOVE fleur de' lis too! :0)
thanks so much for sharing this!

  17. What a GREAT idea!
I may have to copy this, because I never seem to have a good place to hang my ironing board...it's always propped against a wall in a closet or guestroom.

But yours is way prettier than mine! ( I use two over the door hooks!)
